Don’t forget that at the end of the day we do business with people and that business cards are still an essential element to building professional relationships. Get creative with your business card design and create something that will spark a memorable moment or even a conversion about the card. Remember you want to standout and be remembered.
#2 Create Free Information
Everyone knows that leaders in any industry do research, conduct surveys and even try industry leading methods. Position your small business to showcase your innovation by creating information booklets, ebooks, books and other academic materials. Consider giving them away for free as a way to establish your authority, knowledge and for branding purposes.
#3 Change Your Packaging
If your business deals with products consider changing your packaging that is different than others. You want to stand out and gain that extra few seconds of attention when a customer is looking down the aisle. Try using different colors, box sizes and materials as a way to standout from your competition.

If you see various segments in your customer base consider providing them with group discounts as a way to standout, provide better value and build relationships. Although there is nothing wrong with attending events that are tailored to your industry and meeting your competition you might have better luck with marketing by attending events where your target audience might be attending. One of the best ways to build your brand awareness and authority for your products and services is by being on stage talking about them. Try to get bookings (even if free) to speak at events where your customers are attending and talk about issues that matter to them.
